IL CUBO (1) showed good early dash last start and held on well to finish 1.5 lengths back in third over 6½f at Cranbourne. Won't find this as tough so he is one of the primary contenders. GIN BABA (10) registered a strong win at Ararat two runs ago. Decent effort last time out when second over 6½f at Cranbourne, beaten half a length. Finds a suitable assignment and can rediscover winning form. ALTRUIST (5) was prominent in the run and gave a big sight when third over 6f at Seymour just nine days ago. Tricky draw to overcome but must go in the numbers. BRULANTE (9) was out of the money when resuming from a lay-off last start over 6½f at Cranbourne, beaten 3.5 lengths after being prominent at the bend. Fitter so expect a better run this time.
