Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a lay-off last prep over 6f at this track. Strong chance to kick the campaign off on the right note. LATE BLACKSMITH (4) never really threatened when resuming last time out, finishing midfield and beaten 6 lengths over 5f at Hawthorne (Dirt). Will make his presence felt. MR CHIVAS (5) finished fourth over 6½f at Turfway Park (Synthetic) at his most recent appearance on December 5. Has to be respected.
