BRUDENELL (8) fought on to score a narrow win in the LR Abell Stakes at Moonee Valley over this trip at his last appearance on February 28. Gets some weight relief this time so he is expected to measure up again. GENERAL SALUTE (15) was too good when resuming in an easier race over 6f at Kembla Grange last start, scoring by 2.5 lengths. Open to plenty of improvement and is among the leading chances. INSURRECTION (9) drifted well back and failed to finish it off last start when seventh, beaten 4.5 lengths, over 5½f in the G3 Maurice McCarten Stakes at this track. Suitably placed so anticipating a better run this time. Best efforts measure up so worth another chance.
